Future plans

I have been a Learning Designer for Cambridge Online Education for the past 19 months now and I am now at a point in my professional life when I should look at my development and future plans. While I know that I have been blessed with a variety of design and development opportunities from the early days of my career, I recognise that there is still a lot more to learn. Especially in a world now driven towards AI and automation, I am curious to see how the interplay between technology and education will plan out.

I believe that opportunities like joining the ALT community will enable me to expand my knowledge and refine my practice. I plan to engage in more meaningful and regular contact with more experienced designers and developers with an aim to understand how we can shape our CAO strategy towards an AI-driven learning model. I would also love to join the ALT conference next year, which is something I am currently discussing with my team.

I am hoping that these insights will allow me to contribute to my team’s evolution, strengthening both our workflows and our product. In the long term, I plan to refine my porfolio, with an aim to showcase my evolution and work towards a Senior CMALT certification.

Here are some courses and books which I plan to complete, as I work through my self-development.

  • ChatGPT Complete Guide: Learn Midjourney, ChatGPT
  • Generative AI: Implications and Opportunities for Business
  • Web design for beginners
  • Developing people
  • Coaching: Maximising Business Impact
