Dyslexia Decoded

Recognising a gap in the online support given to students with dyslexia, I developed a website that would target the students themselves and not their guardians. This website, unlike other sites, offers information in an audiovisual way (and not in text), making it easier for students with dyslexia to access the content. Dyslexia Decoded aims to empower students by helping them understand what dyslexia is, how they can overcome it and how they can find support if their environment is not offering any.

Dyslexia Decoded does not present dyslexia as a learning difficulty, but rather as another way to view the world, which has both advantages and disadvantages. This website was designed (given the software, funding and time constraints) to be dyslexia-friendly.

All content has been scripted by me, by summarising relevant literature and reaching out to recognised SMEs. Most of this content is video-based and has been developed with a green-screen effect and a simple video editing tool. Free stock graphics have been used to amplify and support meaning.

This website and all its content were developed within a month due to deadline limitations.
